Innovation doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s powered by collaboration, curiosity, and bold ideas.
As Chair of the Jacob Wallenberg Foundation, I had the pleasure of hosting a seminar at SKF Groupe headquarters, where we explored the future of materials research – a field that’s critical to driving sustainable growth and customer value. It was inspiring to see the depth of expertise and diverse perspectives in the room. We also had the honor of presenting the Jacob Wallenberg Foundation Award in Materials Science, celebrating researchers who are truly pushing boundaries.
Congratulations to:
Frieder Mugele & Dirk van den Ende, University of Twente
Maria Isabel DE BARROS BOUCHET, École Centrale de Lyon
Stefano Beretta, Politecnico di Milano
Annika Borgenstam, KTH
Marta-Lena Antti, LTU
Dierk Raabe (not in pic)
As our customers increasingly focus on reducing environmental impact, the role of sustainable materials becomes even more important. Let’s shape a greener, more resilient future.
Thank you to the board members of the Jacob Wallenberg foundation – Roland Larsson and Lars Nyborg. Also a big thank you to Marica Ersson and Hanna Larsson for organizing such a thoughtful and engaging event, and to everyone who joined us!
