DESCRIPTION :

Research being led on the PHARE platform will enable the conception of the future’s engines for the mastery of environmental risk. The platform will have innovating architecture, non-polluting stages of intelligent embedded systems, answering to criteria of ultra-compactedness, operation at a large range of speeds, while offering robustness under extreme solicitation.
CONTRIBUTION TO SCIENCE :

The PHARE project will enable the development of original projects whose application namely concern avionics (plane reactors), construction/equipment of power plants and the understanding of interaction instability phenomena (fluid/structure or structure/structure coupling), driving forces (seismic for example), or impacts (for example collision with birds).

CONTRIBUTION FOR THE CITIZEN :

Thanks to the PHARE project, engine technology innovates and makes progress in terms of : performance, cost efficiency, and noise reduction, all while maintaining reliability, durability and safety of components. For example, in conceiving airplane engines more resistant to bird collisions (a frequent incident during take-off), the safety of airplane transportation for passengers will be increased. In addition, the development of reliable virtual conception will enable the optimization of safety, energetic yield and environmental impact.
CONTRIBUTION TO THE RESEARCH SYSTEM :

The PHARE project is complementary to existing projects, but has the advantage of having access to basic data in the fields of mechanics, aerodynamics, and acoustics, confirmed by laboratory-led experiments.
CONTRIBUTION TO EDUCATION :

The project benefits from training offered both by the Université de Lyon, the grandes écoles and its partners.
CONTRIBUTION TO THE ECONOMY :

The participation of major economic players guarantees that the direction taken by new developments coincides with the economic and societal needs of the country.
