Quality Management Body

par Sylvestre Mickael - 26 avril 2012

EXPLAINATION

Since 2005, the laboratory has thought about introducing a quality approach in its operation. A Quality Management Body (AMQ) was created.

It drafted a text which lays down the general notions that could be applied to our research laboratory context. This text was presented to the laboratory’s board.

The goal of this approach is to introduce continuous enhancement principles in our work methods as described in the ISO9001 norm (2000 version).

Several initiatives were taken by the AMQ (new web site, use of laboratory journals, measurements in tribology).
In 2007 a dashboard was developed and made available to management. It contains 10 progress axes and 83 measures.
It makes it possible to follow these axes’ evolution through time and aids management in the determination of priority actions. An auto-evaluation system was put in place to help research teams in making strategic choices.
